Snow within the Depths of Winter

❄ Move your cursor over the images to unfold the verses ❄
The depths of winter
water drops to ice
still—there are
intricate frost flowers
and pristine icicles on trees
Draped in a heavy coat
trudging through the snow-covered ground
is not without difficulties
Within the piercing winter winds
looking into the distance,
a horizon of snow without end
Within the piercing winter winds
looking into the distance,
a horizon of snow without end
an endless expanse of silver
–at that moment, to truly feel–
the facets of
ice's subtle gentleness
the exalted wonder of snow

    Thank you dear beloved Teacher
Another dose of serenity for our modern world.
In addition to the clatter and chatter and intrigue fighting amongst mankind,we have car horn stereos, cell phones alarms, social media notifications trains airplanes etc
We have personal professional problems are all equally over whelming.
Industries competitors muscled each other, our desks pile high with papers and inboxes overflow with messages.
We are always reachable which means that arguments and updates are never far away. The grind of works wears us down and seems never stop. We are overfed and undernourished. Overstimulated, overscheduled and lonely.
I am very grateful for having you, my precious teacher who constantly fed me with doses of calmness and serenity. It brings great joy and happiness to my sorrow heart in this samsara. ?

I love it! With images to explain the verses, it's really revealed the beauty of winter through Teacher's eyes. I personally not a fan of cold winter days, but Teacher's words changes my perception. Look and feel with your heart, there is the most spectacular beauty that only winter can present, and for the gentle and caring heart to obtain. It's also a good way to look at hard times in life! Thank you my dearest Teacher!

Thank you, my dearest Teacher for awakening me on my life's winter, when I find it so hard to guide my body and mind to the lofty direction. Thank you for guiding me to uncover hope and find a new perspective on challenges and obstacles that are indispensable to a practitioner. May your great compassion, wisdom and power be with me throughout my lives, inspiring me to look into the distance of wonder and miracles even when facing the wintry gale. All the best wishes to my dearest Teacher!

    Exalted snow, exalted Teacher
    Draped in Compassion and
    Steadfastness
Sentient beings helplessly clinging to life and death
    Your armor, your endless endeavour,
    your Bodhicitta bring sentient beings
    without difficulties out of samsara.
    Is intricate, is endless.
The exalted Teacher brings us through
the piercing winds through the snow
Until the horizon of a silver linnings.
Most Heartfelt Gratitude to Teacher Zhen-Ru for your Compassion.

This poem has come to me timely. Have been bogged down by a troubled mind lately. Thanks for the sharing left by user (Greene) “.. every situation holds multiple facets”. This reminded me this is just what I might be experiencing now. I hope at the end of the day I have the strong determination to apply what I have learnt from teacher’s teachings and to become a better version of me each time after an obstacle.

This poem is a gift to the soul, a soothing rain that washes away worries—reminding us that every cloud has a silver lining.

Recent news reports of blizzards sweeping across nations and wreaking havoc have heightened concerns over extreme climate change. However, after reading this poem, I realised that dwelling on negative emotions not only proves futile but also deepens my despair.

In truth, every situation holds multiple facets. By practising a shift in perspective, I can learn to uncover the silver lining even in adversity, transforming challenges into the very nourishment for my growth!
